Description

History of creation

Despite the Mk-21 TBR be an awesome rifle, the soldiers began to complain because his back iron sight be far behind, being impossible to aim for it. But this has been explained a few weeks later by the lack of experience of D&K, even producing excelent weapons. So it was recommended to the soldiers who put their ACOG farther forward, in preference of the soldier. Despite having gotten a more modern weaponry, FAB was depending only on PARAFAL, the Mk-21 TBR, the HMSR-50, they had a heavy weapon for the defense of the trenches, and were losing ground in the war. The D&K, patriot, felt challenged after a direct affront of Paraguay, saying "This is a war won, Brazil is unable to win a war against 4 countries, especially with an armament as PARAFAL. We have more weapons, we have more soldiers, we have more strategists. Just give up, you have no chance. " After seeing this affront, D&K considered a personal challenge. Brazil will win this war for sure, said the creators of D&K.
Some time after this note, General Carlos Eduardo created the Alpha Team, based in the American Delta Team. The Alpha Team was formed by the best soldiers of the FAB, these being equipped with the best equipment, and were usually equipped with Mk-21 TBR , snipers using HMSR-50 and paratroopers and soldiers used in resumption missions using the FN MAG and M249 SAW.
Taking into account that Brazil was in need of heavy weapons for the defense of the trenches, D&K started the project "TrenchDefender", which was based on creating a compact, lightweight and with a high firepower LMG. Months after much work on this project was born HCMG A1-SAW

The HCMG-A1 SAW

The HCMG-A1 SAW (short for Heavy Compact Machine Gun - model A1 Squad Automatic Weapon), was the result of months of work on the project "TrenchDefender" which resulted in the most modern Light Machine Gun in Brazil today. As the project was to be a compact weapon, they decided to use a system bullup, which reduced the size of it to a Browning M2 to smaller than an M249. Despite having "Heavy" in the name, it is very light for a LMG with its qualities, which are from a reliability incredible, incredible firepower by .338 WM, and and completely ambidextrous with the charging handle on both sides, the selector fire again from both sides, and having two EP, one covered by the cheek rest, and the other where the bullet is forced out. It is standard with the cheek rest covering the left EP. These qualities together in a single weapon makes an awesome weapon, but like any weapon it has its disadvantages

Advantages
▪ Great firepower the .338 Winchester Magnum.
▪ extremely high rate of fire.
▪ Reliability incredible, comparable to the AK-47.
▪ Free-Floating barrel
▪ Quite portable for being a bullup.
▪ Completely ambidextrous.
▪ Very accurate.
Disadvantage
▪ Full auto is uncontrollable by one man without using a bipod, tripod or some support for gun (soldiers who use it usually go to prone to use it).
▪ Modularity is greatly compromised, with a gun is only a top rail for optics.
▪ Some soldiers feel uncomfortable when use the HCMG (usually soldiers who complain about this are those with shorter arms).

General Info

Weight: 13,91 lb (6.31 kg) unloaded. 21,01 lb (9,53 kg) loaded.
Length: 38,39 in (975mm).
Barrel Length: 23,94 in (608mm).
Cartridge: .338 Winchester Magnum.
Operation: Gas operated, rotating bolt.
Rate of fire: 1025 round/min
Muzzle Velocity: 2,950 ft/s.
Muzzle Energy: 5,242 J.
Effective range: 1035 m.
Feed system: a drum of 150 bullets come by default, but can however use a drum of 500 bullets (this last can be used only mounted version for support fire).
Sights: It just comes with the basic iron sight, these being similar to the M16. But most telescopic scopes, ACOG, RDS and Holo Sight can be used.

My opinion.

Well, I think this was good, even without using both blending and shading as the Mk-21.
I know for sure that someone will comment on the fact that the EP be too small for the .338 WM, I agree, but for me, the body of the AUG is one of the most difficult (if not harder) to be manipulated. I started doing it with the body of the FN F2000, but was extremely similar to other weapons of others, and did not want to be accused of plagiarism, I decided to use the same body AUG. But I think it was good or reasonable.

Thank Benjoo by the C-Drum.
Thanks ~Shockwave9001 by the fire selector and the cheek rest and a part of the charging handle.

Criticisms are always welcome!

SAW + .338 Win Mag = oh god, this is going to do a LOT of damage...

"commander, what are those weapons they are carrying?" - enemy soldier talking to commander
"must be their new plastic shit weapons. i bet they won't even fire... hehehe..." - enemy commander joking about new SAW
*DAKKADAKKADAKKADAKKADAKKADAKKADAKKA!* (SAW firing)
"HOLY SHIT! FIND COVER!" - enemy soldier running like a girl
"HOLY CRA---SPLOOSH" - enemy commander losing his head... litteraly
and 2 minutes later, there was no more enemy battalion.

though this is really a matter of personal opinion, i'd recommend you to use belt-fed mechanisms when making SAWs. don't get me wrong, i liked the design and the magazine fits the compact idea well, but if you were to go for a full-size SAW then a belt-fed would be better, as you can keep firing for a longer time and have less probability of jamming. anyways, in this situation i believe the magazine-fed would be better, so you made the right choice.
